Assistant Baker
Have you been thinking about training as an artisan baker? Enjoy working in a busy, fun team? If you are interested in learning about sourdough baking and developing commercial skills in pastry work look no further – we need an enthusiastic Assistant Baker to join the baking team in our production bakery unit in Aboyne.
You will be a key member of the team working in the bakery unit supporting our bakers as they produce bread and pastries for our shop and at farmers markets, assisting with production and keeping the bakery clean and tidy.
The role is 16 hours per week with the opportuinty for additional hours covering holidays and busy periods.
You will be trained in producing artisan bakery products to a high standard under the guidance of our experienced bakers. Your duties will include supporting the bakers with a range of preparation tasks throughout the baking process, general hygiene and cleaning tasks, stock taking, product packing and loading the van. You will also be expected to attend farmers markets and other events, supporting our retail staff team and promoting our products to customers. The role may involve some driving and delivery responsibilities and a full, clean drivers license would be an advantage.
The role would suit you if you are physically fit as lifting tasks will be required. All training will be provided but the right person will need to be interested in a career in bakery, have good attention to detail and be able to achieve a high standard of hygiene. And of course, discounted bakery products are a given!
